Frequently Asked Questions.

  • We would recommend using Uber/Lyft/Taxi/Public Transit to get around during the weekend. The hotels are located in the heart of San Francisco which makes parking difficult. Unfortunately, break-in's are also quite common in the city. Renting a car is likely not worth the risk and hassle.

Public transit is pretty easy to navigate in the city. The regional transit system (called BART) can get you to and from both SFO and OAK if you choose to travel that way. Within the city, MUNI is a system of trains and buses that can get you around locally. The famous San Francisco street cars are also around - these are less practical but fun to ride.

Lastly, if you are really want to ride in SF style, Waymo is an autonomous ride share service and is available in the city. There wont be a driver in the front seat, so buckle up! https://waymo.com/

  • Cocktail Attire.

The ceremony and cocktail hour at the wedding will be outdoors. The welcome party will also be primarily outdoors. San Francisco evenings can be chilly. You may want to bring a sweater or jacket.

The other weekend events are casual attire.

  • A shuttle service will be provided from the Mark Hopkins to the wedding venue. Stanford Court is directly adjacent to the Mark Hopkins, so if staying there just walk next door. All shuttles will be leaving around 2:50pm on October 12, 2024 (no further trips after this). Return shuttles will depart from the wedding venue at 10pm (at the end of the reception) and at midnight (at the end of after party).

If you would like to Uber/Lyft/taxi/drive to the wedding, please allow plenty of time.  The Fleet Week air show will be happening during the afternoon of October 12th, so there will likely be more traffic than usual.  If you arrive to Cavallo Point early, you'll have a great view of the air show!

We have been told it can be difficult to get Ubers/Lyfts from Cavallo Point at night, so you may want to take the shuttle back or plan accordingly.

There will not be transportation provided to the Welcome Party or to the Brunch at the Park. These events are local and can be either walked to or with whatever form of transportation you choose. If you decide to walk, just remember that the hills in San Francisco can be steep, so wear comfortable shoes even if the distance does not seem that far.

  • Fleet week is an annual air show over the San Francisco Bay. The air show is occurs on Oct 10th, 11th, and 12th (Fri, Sat, and Sun). Find more information here: https://fleetweeksf.org/

San Francisco will be crowded these days due to the event. Just make sure you plan for additional time for Uber/Lyfts/Taxis. The show takes place just north of the city, so the north coast of the city will be most crowded. This is also the best area to see the show if you are interested

  • Check out the website a little closer to the weekend. We will provide a page of fun activities to do while you are here. We loved living in SF and want to show it off to you!

  • We are asking that kids do not attend the wedding reception, but children are welcome to attend the welcome party and the brunch on Sunday.

We want you to be there more than anything else, and we understand that finding supervision for your children can be difficult. Please just reach out to us if this is difficult so we can help come up with a plan.
